Lisbon – In love

I do not know what happens in Lisbon. You just turn around the corner and there they are. The signs of affection…

I was just up the hill to Miradouro Senhora do Monte, a sightseeing spot overviewing Lisbon, to catch the soft light of the early morning. When I turned around this young couple just had arrived. After a few minutes of intensive kissing they drove of in their BMW. A love affair ? Well it does not matter. Once you pay attention, it happens in front of your eyes. There are signs of affection in small and bigger gestures.

Sometimes by-watcher seem not to believe what they see…

But I think the poor fellow was still drunk that morning. Here a rather funny expression of affection.

And sometime it looks more dangerous than it turns out to be. It is rather a little play….

One of my favorite shots on the first morning in Lisbon. To me it is classic composition. The couple got closer later on, but also spotted me, so the magic of the moment was gone…

The magic nearly happened again another evening, and another evening…

Coming from Tokyo, from a society where physical contact is still very much against the common code of behavior, I was sensitive and enjoying every minute of this human exchange, even among friends…
