Tokyo Street Portraits II
It is hard to tell when street portraits turn into street photography. It depends on the criteria you apply..
I would call the following three picture definitely street portraits, as the individual ist not only in the center but is also looking into the lens.
I also would consider street portraits shots where a person is singled out like in the following two ones.
Not really out in the street, but also part of last week encounter: a noh-theater performance where of course there is a focus on a specific person.
By putting the actor in the frame of the musicians on stage the borderline to street photography is crossed. The pictures broaden to include other people, adding more background etc. The try to tell a story, for example of communication. I would put the last pictures of this series into this context.
